Teen Patti Rules & Hand Rankings — A Neutral Primer
Teen Patti is a three-card game with regional and product-specific variations. The guide below explains common terminology for recognition only. The rules shown inside a specific product or table take precedence.
Common hand order
From strongest to weaker, many versions use trail or trio, pure sequence, sequence, colour, pair and high card. Some tables order A-2-3 or A-K-Q differently, so check the displayed rules before play.
- Trail / trio: three cards of one rank
- Pure sequence: consecutive cards of one suit
- Sequence: consecutive cards across suits
- Colour, pair, then high card
Table flow
Players usually receive three face-down cards. A product may offer seen and blind decisions, side shows or different stake progressions. Digital interfaces can automate steps, but the underlying table rules and limits should be visible before a round starts.
- Read the table limits
- Understand seen versus blind status
- Check show and side-show rules
- Do not assume two apps use identical rules
Named variations
Muflis commonly reverses the normal hand goal so a lower hand is favoured. AK47 and Joker modes designate wild cards under product-specific conditions. These labels are not enough to determine every rule.
- Muflis changes hand preference
- AK47 may treat selected ranks as wild
- Joker rules vary by table
- Read the in-product rules each time
Responsible boundaries
Knowing rankings does not create a reliable way to win. Random dealing, product rules and other participants affect outcomes. Do not chase losses, borrow money, or treat gameplay as income.
- Set a time limit before starting
- Do not use essential household money
- Stop when the session stops being enjoyable
- Use account limits or self-exclusion where available
